1fishscreaming: … hello?

So, people, what is up with this silence?

If I we don't get active like soon, I'll be forced to post my fic. My 2nd Person, Present Tense fic. And we do not want this.

So, I pose a questions: do you prefer angsty running around behind James's back Remus/Lily, Remus/Lily AU fic, or pre-James!Crush, Remus/Lily? And back up with reasons, please.

Personally, I'll take anything so long as it's well written. (see, last bit is a reason)

Well, as I'm not very fond of AU's, I prefer the first and the last option.

1) ANGST. Angst rules all. ;) Except tha fact I can feel a little sorry for James, though. *guilty consience* I think this is definately the overall idea of a major part of all existing R/L fics, just because the idea seems much more mysterious to most than all the fluffy pré-James stuff. Angst does play a enormous part in our fandom. It' s not quite AU, but nearly crossing the line, if you know what I mean. ;) We like to see Lily as a strong character, and showing her doing something quite 'irrational' seems tempting to many, I think.

3) I admit, crushes are cute to read and write. :D

Forgive me if this was a total nonsense-filled post, because it's nearly 1 am here and I ought to be sleeping right now. ;)

I'm not so experienced inthis field yet. I know i don't lek the behind-hjames's back part buthat's jsut the idea of it. I myself ahve written pre-james stuff of which Ih ave no idea how far it'd go in m yworld. It's mostl ybecaus i' mmapping out lives adn trying not to interfere with canon too mcuh.
htat's apparently why I'mfor instancen ot writing so much present-day Hermione stuff either.
ahem...I did do some remuslily ficlets. will go overthe mthis week and post them. or look in my memories if you dare. :)

All of the above? Actually, I'm not so fond of AU unless it's AU for a good reason, for a what-if, and "what if Lily and Remus had gotten together instead of Lily and James" isn't generally enough of a solid reason for me.

I like Remus/Lily when it's behind James' back when it's done well and kept IC. Okay, and I have a soft spot for pre-James!crush Remus/Lily. It's cute. Very cute.

What I'm a total nut for, though, and they're rare by necessity, are ship fics in which canon is still followed and respected. That's limiting, terribly limiting, and isn't going to happen every time. It's part of the reason why the pairing, much as I love it, is so damned hard to write. It's also why I tend to lean toward the strong-friendship side of love, between them. Because it seems more automatically believeable.

This is also why all I've gotten so far out of my head are friend-fics, though I've got some pairing fics in the works that I'll be able to post here.

This is the kind of love that's almost better when it's unrequited, really, and it doesn't even have to be deep angst so much as resignation.

Although I could like any of them done well, mostly I lean toward the third option. Unrequited or unfulfilled R/L love just makes me go squee. I guess that's because I'm a total angst whore, and that option lends itself so well to angst. *g* The first option just seems kind of OOC to me, because Remus is almost desperate for approval, and running around with his mate's girlfriend/crush (secretly or not) seems a bit of a risky move.

*totally agrees*

Personally I have only ever read 3 R/L fics before(Shocking, I know!). I'm a bit of an angst whore, so I like the unrequited stuff, but the main reason I love this ship is a fic I read not so long ago on LJ. I don't know who wrote it (but there's a link in kphoebe's journal) and there's this moment between Remus and Lily that I find sublime. The fic isn't actually R/L but the R/L interaction is what got me hooked on this ship.

Well, i seem to have gotten a bit off track, so backl to the question at hand: Pre-James R/L with a semi-relationship thing happening is what I love. But-grabbing, breath-taking tension moments are good.
